The manufacturing attendance problem

A factory shift change is not the same as an office arrival. Two hundred people arrive within ten minutes, hands worn from work and often carrying gloves, and any queue delays the line start. On top of that, most factories rotate morning-afternoon-night crews on a fixed cycle and pay overtime by shift type. A generic terminal at the gate is not the answer.

Palm recognition for worn hands

Manufacturing wears fingerprints smooth. Palm recognition on ProFace X reads the vein pattern instead, which is unaffected by manual work.

Rotating shift rosters

Morning-afternoon-night crews on a fixed cycle configured once and applied automatically. No monthly manual rebuild.

Per-line cost allocation

Punches tagged with production line or cell, so cost accounting sees labour cost per line rather than a factory-wide total.

PPE-safe hardware

What we ask a manufacturer first

How many workers arrive within ten minutes?

This decides the terminal. Under 100, a mid-range face terminal is fine. Over 200, a ProFace X or a second reader is the honest answer.

What is the fingerprint condition?

Manufacturing wears fingerprints. If more than a third of the workforce have worn ridges, palm recognition is the primary method and fingerprint is not attempted.

How does the shift cycle work?

Fixed morning-afternoon-night, three-crew or four-crew, weekend rotation. We configure the cycle once so payroll never rebuilds it manually.

Do you allocate hours by production line?

If yes, we tag punches by line at the terminal so cost accounting sees per-line labour cost rather than a monolithic total.
